After the update for Mac, Windows, and Linux, Chrome 74 is being deployed on Android. This version allows websites to respect the preferences of the operating system to reduce movement, while "Data Saver" has been renamed to "Lightweight Mode".
Android 9 Pie offers a "Delete animations" toggle in the accessibility settings to help users predisposed to motion sickness. It reduces transition animations, parallax scrolling, and zoom effects on the operating system and third-party applications.
In Chrome 74, the CSS preferred reduced-movement- Multimedia request asks websites to respect this user preference at the system level. Web developers must support this feature by disabling animations or creating a variation of motion reduction pages. It is also ideal for users who want less animation and a faster browsing experience in general.
Although many users appreciate this type of animation, some people do not like it because they feel distracted or slowed down. In the worst case, users may even suffer from motion sickness, as if it 's been a real life experience. Reducing animations is therefore a medical necessity for these users.
"The Data Saver" in Chrome 74 for Android has been renamed to "Lite Mode". It better reflects the additional steps to speed up site load times and reduce memory usage.. Lite mode works by rewriting "very slow pages" on Google's servers and sending only "essential content" to users. Data usage is reduced by 60%, with the new icon.

Appearing for the first time on the desktop with Chrome 73, the "Google sync services"Menu begins to unfold on mobile. It consolidates all options related to data collected by Google in the browser. Many of these settings were previously under "Privacy", which is now simplified. This new page is still being deployed for users.

Appearing for the first time in the previous release, Chrome 74 deploys more widely shortcuts to quickly share or modify a URL. By tapping the Omnibar, you will notice the name of the current site and the link below, with the buttons on the right. The first opens the system sharing sheet, while the second allows you to quickly change the address before browsing.
Version 74 also adds "Translate"In the Overflow menu. By pressing the existing translation tool at the bottom of the screen, you can select languages from the drop-down menu. This allows users to "translate any web page instantly".
This version too deprecates "downloads by the reader iframes in sandbox ". The browser "will prevent downloads in iframes in sandbox without user gestures". Rather than launching the download automatically after landing on a new page, or launching it "not spontaneously after the click", users will have to click manually.
Chrome 74 for Android and desktop is being rolled out, with Chrome OS next week.
