The next season of Destiny 2 will begin on March 5th and includes new activities to complete as part of the annual pass offer for the game. The Wild Joker DLC which corresponds to season 6, the Drifter season, adds a new version of the Gambit competitive mode called Gambit Prime, which reinforces the stakes of the mode introduced for the first time with the Forsaken extension.

Bungie has detailed some details in a new blog post and video that presents some of what players can expect from season 6. The story of next season is centered on The Drifter, the mysterious character who runs Gambit and the strange and giant artifact. He towed his ship since arriving in Destiny 2. According to the vidoc, you could think up to now at Gambit as a workout for the heist. Gambit Prime is the holdup, according to Bungie, and this is fueling another high-profile activity called The Reckoning.

The Reckoning will be a multi-level event that will return a special loot, with the idea that you'll collect armor and weapons from The Reckoning, bring them back to Gambit Prime for better items, and then use them for return to The Calcul. The first level of The Reckoning will be available at the beginning of the season on March 5th, with the first new map of Gambit Prime, a location on Mars called New Arcadia. According to the Bungie Destiny 2 roadmap, the second level of The Reckoning will be unlocked on March 8 and the third and final level will be available to players on March 15th.

Although the video does not specify how Gambit Prime will be different from classic Gambit or what The Reckoning will be exactly, an interesting part of The Reckoning is its link to The Nine. This is the strange dark group that has not been mentioned until now in Destiny's destiny, mainly thanks to visits from the weekly exotic arms salesman and Emissary of the Nine, Xur. Previous information on Season 6 indicated that Xur would soon be offering bonuses to players. These are now called Invitations of the Nine and will appear on March 15 with the third level of The Reckoning. These are weekly bonuses that offer powerful rewards, but you can only create one on each character per week, for nine weeks. There are not a lot of details as to what they involve, however.

As for the new Gambit Prime cards, after New Arcadia, a Titan site called Deep Six will be added on March 12th. Three new Gambit weapons will also be available in this activity, as well as new armor sets via Gambit Prime and The Reckoning. .

As the video notes, Bungie took note of DLC's first release of its new annual pass, The Black Armory. When this season started, it resulted in an increase in the power that forced players to grind old activities to become strong enough to read newly released content, which no one was playing very badly on Destiny 2. This will not happen in the Wild Joker – Bungie indicates that top players will be able to jump directly to the new Gambit Prime mode. A new set of bonuses available from The Drifter, called Power Surge bonuses, will also help people under 640 Power to recover as close to the peak level of last season in an hour or two, said Bungie.

Destiny 2 fans are still waiting for another important event in the Wild Joker: the quest to get Thorn, one of Destiny 1's most beloved (and most hated) pistols. It starts on March 12, but it should Be long and include time gates like previous alien weapon quests. It seems that this quest also requires you to choose an opponent between the Drifter and the Guardian group called the Vanguard. Once you have made that choice for a specific character, you are apparently caught with, apparently.

While Season of the Drifter gambits content is locked behind the annual pass, there are some new content elements for those who have not opted for downloadable content. Season 6 will see new high level Pinnacle weapons to win in the Crucible and Vanguard strikes. Two new events are also coming soon: a spring event called The Revelry, which seems to be similar to Valentine's Day on Valentine's Day, the Holiday-themed event, The Dawning, and the festival Halloween themed events. Another week – long event, called Arc Week, will also be free for all players. These events will begin in April and will spread until May.
