Diablo 4 confirms more routine updates to come in 2021

Aside from its reveal in 2019, the last few days have brought the most news we’ve had on Diablo 4 until there. And while we might not have another massive dump of information about the game in this way for a while, Blizzard has made sure that more routine development updates are always planned for. this year.

Just like it did last year, Blizzard has confirmed that it will be making quarterly updates for Diablo 4 during 2021. Speaking to us here on ComicBook.com, Diablo 4Senior Systems Designer Joe Piepiora said the routine game updates that have taken place throughout 2020 will continue throughout this year. While a game update is not coming this quarter given all of the information that was just disclosed during BlizzCon, more information will be available at a later date.

Piepiora went on to say that the Diablo 4 Quarterly updates are not only helpful for fans looking to learn more about the upcoming action RPG, but they also help the Blizzard team know how their work is being received by the community. “We love the quarterly updates. It’s a great way for us because we’re so iterative as a development team, ”explained Piepiora. “We love the idea of ​​being able to post like a blog post with enough detailed and meaty design information to give you an idea of ​​how the game is going to play and just see the community reaction. We take into account the feedback we get […] and we try to build that into our thinking as we look at this stuff. It is helpful to get this feedback as you go through the process. “

Diablo 4 still does not have a release window and will most likely be in development for a while. When it releases, however, it should arrive on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X iterations will likely also be announced in the future.
