Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Kole Calhoun made a big mistake Sunday in the sixth inning of a game against the Chicago Cubs.
Calhoun was at bat with bases loaded and an exit when he hit a Grounder along the first base line. Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo lined up the ball and threw it home to save the second of the inning.

Chicago wide receiver Robinson Chirinos thought the game was over but noticed Calhoun didn’t make it to first base. Instead, Calhoun picked up his helmet and did not attempt to make it to the base.
After the game, Calhoun told reporters that he stopped to make sure nothing was injured again. But he had no explanation as to why he picked up his helmet, according to Athleticism.

Calhoun finished 1 for 5 in the game.
“You win the ball game and it’s easy to laugh,” he added.
Fortunately, Arizona broke the tie at 2-2 in the seventh inning and scored two more runs in the eighth to claim a 6-4 victory.
Eduardo Escobar won his 21st home circuit the season in the eighth inning with a two-run homerun against Rex Brothers.

Arizona’s Merrill Kelly pitched eight innings and struck out six. He allowed four runs on six hits.
