For Lemongrass & Geranium, their last summer body spray, the French brand Diptyque has chosen the ecoBottle from the Collection of ecoLine light glasses by Bormioli Luigi. The two companies shared the details of this collaboration during the last edition of the Special Edition by Luxe Pack show, in Paris.
An eco-designed glass bottle
Developed as a limited edition, Lemongrass & Geranium is made from insect repellent essential oils which make it both a fragrance and a mosquito repellent, a unique innovative proposition.
To wrap this summery fragrance with crunchy and aromatic notes, Diptyque has chosen the light glass ecoBottle with post-consumer recycled content (PCR) 10% material. Such a ratio does not alter the aesthetics of the bottle, thus fully enhancing the juice of the fragrance. The 100 ml bottle weighs only 80 grams, which is just over half the weight of a traditional bottle of the same capacity. This represents a significant advantage in terms of portability and durability. In addition, the screw pump makes recycling easier, as it can be removed. The design of the pump also allowed the brand to adapt an existing cap from the range.
Diptyque was therefore able to develop “a short series taking advantage of an existing model,” has explained Luigi Bormioli in a report.
Sustainability expectations
In order to better meet the expectations of brands and consumers in terms of sustainable development, Bormioli Luigi invests and multiplies innovations.
With his new generation electric furnaces, Bormioli Luigi strives to reduce the weight of its glass products while increasing their content in post-consumer recycled materials.
The Italian glassmaker is also innovating with flexible industrial processes in line with the demand for bottles meeting multiple references.
