Disney Channel has ordered Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur of Marvel, original animated series based on Marvel's comics series, from Disney Television Animation. Laurence Fishburne and Cinema Gypsy Productions by Helen Sugland (ABC & # 39; s Blackish), Marvel Animation & Family Entertainment, and Emmy winner Steve Loter (Disney's Kim Possible) will be executive product.
The series follows the adventures of super-genius Lunella Lafayette, 13, and her ten-tonne T-Rex dinosaur, Devil Dinosaur. After Lunella accidentally introduces the Devil's Dinosaur into the current city of New York via a time vortex, the duo works together to protect the Lower East Side of the city from danger.
The news was announced today by Fishburne at the Disney Television Animation Panel at Disney's D23 Expo.
