For many visitors to Walt Disney World Resort, Friday night – and even Friday during the day – officially kicks off the weekend at the resort’s four theme parks.

Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios almost always jump on Fridays, especially in the evenings after the people of Orlando have left work! Yesterday, however, visitors to the four Disney World parks experienced a number of ride closures throughout the day, some of which were quite lengthy.

WDW Statistics on Twitter confirmed all closures. The following rides were impacted:
- Royal Carousel of Prince Charming
- Test track
- Splash Mountain
- Slinky Dog Dash
- Astro Orbiter
- Jungle cruise
- Seven dwarfs mining train
- Swiss family tree house
- Aladdin’s magic carpets
- The Barnstormer
- Dumbo the flying elephant
- Tomorrowland racing circuit
- Big Thunder Mountain Railway
- Rock’n’Roller Coaster with Aerosmith
- Liberty Square riverboat
- TriceraTop Spin
- Everest Expedition – The Legend of the Forbidden Mountain
- Rapids of the Kali River
- Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
- Haunted house
- DINOSAUR
- Spaceship Earth
- Crazy tea party
- Mickey and Minnie Runaway Railroad

The Prince Charming Regal Carousel, the Seven Dwarfs Mining Train, the TriceraTop Spin, the Earth Spaceship and the Haunted Mansion all suffered two temporary disruptions yesterday.

It is important to note that the Cast Members of Walt Disney World Resort do their utmost to ensure that all rides and attractions on the property remain operational on a day-to-day basis. However, temporary downtime sometimes occurs due to mechanical issues or general maintenance.
Inclement weather in the central Florida area can also cause unexpected closings, as some rides are uncertain to operate during a lightning storm.
