LISBON – Columbiana County residents will pay an additional $ 2 per license for their dogs starting December 1.
County commissioners voted Wednesday to increase the cost of a dog license to $ 12 per dog for a one-year registration and to $ 36 for a three-year registration. A permanent registration will also increase from $ 100 to $ 120.
The cost of the kennel license fee does not increase. There will be $ 50 left for up to five beacons with an additional cost of $ 1 per beacon after five.
The license term for 2022 begins December 1 and continues through January 31 with license applications for renewals after January 31 subject to a late penalty. Licenses can be renewed online, but include an online convenience fee of $ 2.50.
The last increase in dog licenses in the county came into effect in 2014, after commissioners voted in August 2013 to increase licenses from $ 8 to $ 10 for the coming year.

– Commissioners voted to reject two bids from RT Vernal Paving and Excavating in northern Lima for community development block grant projects in Columbiana and Leetonia. In the bids opened on August 11, RT Vernal had been the sole bidder for both projects, offering $ 93,594 to redo the coating of approximately 1,352 feet of South Vine Street in Columbiana and $ 92,132 to redo approximately 1,675 feet. from Pine Street to Leetonia. The bids would have been more than 10 percent higher than the engineer’s estimate.
– On Wednesday, commissioners opened new bids for a project in East Liverpool, where Barbacus Construction offered $ 93,424 for a street improvement project with CDBG funding. Barbacus had been the rejected bid for the project on Virginia Avenue and Central Street in June with an offer of $ 94,299. The latter offer was referred to the East Liverpool engineer’s office.
– The Commissioners approved a request from the administrators of the Township of St. Clair to release the western end of the extension of Fisher Avenue, a road in the township. The two parcels created are 0.058 acres and 0.033 acres.
– Commissioners have approved permission to hunt on County Home Road property for Christian Barnes and Glenn, Christina and Breann Warner.
