Don Everly, half of the rock ‘n’ roll pioneers Everly Brothers, has passed away. He was 84 years old.
A lawyer and family spokesperson said Everly died at his home in Nashville, Tennessee on Saturday. Her brother, Phil Everly, died in January 2014.
In the late 1950s and 1960s, the duo shaped rock ‘n’ roll with their high and fiery harmony, while their poignant lyrics embodied the hustle and bustle and energy of teenagers.
Their careers spanned five decades, although they performed separately from 1973 to 1983.
At their peak between 1957 and 1962, they had 19 hits from the top 40, including “Bye Bye Love”, “All I Have to Do Is Dream” and “Wake Up Little Susie”.
