The AMP Open Source project, owned by Google, launches a major new feature today. AMP Project provides support for AMP email dynamic emails, enabling businesses to create dynamic emails with which you can interact directly from your inbox.
Outlook, Gmail and Yahoo Mail are three of the leading e-mail providers that will introduce support for dynamic e-mails using AMP. This means that if an email uses AMP, you can interact with AMP directly from your inbox.
On Gmail, dynamic e-mail support is now being deployed on the Web. Google indicates that the company wants to integrate this feature with mobile devices in the future, although a specific release date is not available.
Microsoft Outlook will introduce support for dynamic messaging with AMP Email as a preview for Outlook.com users and expects the preview to be ready for this summer. Yahoo, meanwhile, is "excited" to be part of the program, but does not say when the feature will arrive or if it is already available.
Some of the major services that use dynamic email with AMP Mail include Google Docs, which will allow you to respond to feeds of comments on files directly from your inbox, for example. Booking.com, Despegar, Doodle, Ecwid, Freshworks, Nexxt, OYO Rooms, Pinterest and redBus will also use AMP Email to deliver interactive emails directly to your inbox.
The idea behind dynamic e-mail seems really helpful, but it really will be so only if people really start to embrace the new technology. Developers must not only start adopting the new technology, but your email client must also support the new platform. And I do not think that will happen soon.
