Motorists in the village of Milford can expect road closures as part of a construction project that begins today.
The village will complete road repairs on East Huron Street between River Drive and Mount Eagle, as well as the installation of a new water main and improved drainage. Due to favorable bid results, the project will include preservation paving work on residential streets between Atlantic Street and East Huron (S. Houghton, Franklin, Mount Eagle and Fairview) as well as the extension of the roadway on South Houghton at south of East Huron.
Road works operations will begin today with the installation of site signs and the closure of roads. Asphalt grinding on Huron Street is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, but depends on weather conditions. The Village advises that residents will have access to their aisles throughout this period, except when the milling machine is directly in front of an aisle. The River Street intersection is expected to be closed from next Monday, October 11, which also depends on weather conditions.
Motorists are urged to find alternate routes around the intersection while the water and storm sewer works are completed.
