The German Federal Government, through the German Development Bank, on Wednesday granted a 100 million euro loan to Tunisia to support reforms in the banking and financial sectors under the support from the Tunisian government. Ziad Al-Athari, Helmet Googs, member of the board of the German Development Bank for the Middle East and North Africa, and Daniela Peckmann, director of the financial sector of the same institution [19659002] 15 years, including a 5 year deadline, and a donation of 10 million euros to Tunisia to help implement the agreed reforms.
The signing of this agreement is part of the launch of the Partnership for Investment Initiative between Tunisia and Germany. On the occasion of the signing of the declaration of intent between the two countries on June 12, 2017.
The agreement represents the commitment of Germany to grant to the Tunisia a differential loan in the form of budget support to encourage financial and banking reforms (300 million euros spread over 3 years). During the period (2018-2020).
