Eileen Theresa (Locke) Prescott
Ipswich – Eileen Theresa (Locke) Prescott, 78, wife of the late J. Paul Prescott, passed away peacefully on Friday October 1, 2021 at Port Healthcare in Newburyport. She was born to Marie (O’Sullivan) and Frederick Locke on October 18, 1942 in Boston. She was raised in Ipswich by her maternal ‘Aunt Elizabeth and Uncle Joe Bobola’ after her mother died when Eileen was only eighteen months old.
Eileen attended Ipswich Schools and graduated in 1960 from Ipswich High School.
She then worked as a secretary at the Second National Bank in Boston. She then worked at GTE Sylvania in Ipswich in human resources until her retirement. She married Paul Prescott at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Ipswich in 1965 and they were married for fifty-three years until Paul’s death in 2018.
Eileen and Paul were very proud of the house and had a passion for cooking and for entertaining family and friends, celebrating her Irish roots and Paul’s Polish heritage. Eileen and Paul loved frequenting Crane Beach in their boat and traveling numerous times to Ireland, England, Canada, mainland Europe, the Panama Canal, Mexico, Costa Rica and Bermuda. Over the years, they have also taken numerous road trips across the United States with her sister Betty-Anne and brother-in-law Jim and their daughters, Jessica and Amanda.
Eileen is survived by her loving sister and confidante, Betty-Anne and husband Jim Prentiss of Hampton Falls, NH, and sisters Mary Doody of Beverly and Alice Stasiuk of Ipswich. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, sister-in-law Eileen (Jean) Locke of Malden, brother-in-law Peter Prescott and wife Marion, the Dumont family and lifelong friend Jane Carey Howard all of Ipswich.
She was predeceased by her husband Paul, parents Marie and Frederick Locke, Elizabeth and Joseph Bobola, brothers John and Freddie Locke, and many loving uncles, aunts and cousins ​​here and in Ireland.

A Christian Burial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church 54 Linebrook Road, Ipswich. Interment will follow at Cowles Memorial Cemetery 29 Town Farm Road, Ipswich. Visiting hour will take place Thursday before mass from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at Morris Funeral Home 45 North Main Street, Ipswich, relatives and friends are respectfully invited. For those attending the visit, face covers are required for those who are not fully immunized.
