BLACKFOOT, Idaho (KIFI) – Not being able to host the 2020 Eastern Idaho State Fair only motivated the fair team to make the 2021 event better than ever, and two years of preparation have been spent on the longest-running nine-day event -organizing community event in Southeast Idaho.
Almost 250,000 people passed through the fair’s gates, making it the busiest fair of all time, with a total of 249,892 people. The show set grandstand records on 4 of the first 5 days, starting the week incredibly strong.
On Thursday, September 9, a FULL crowd walked through the doors of the Bank of Commerce Grandstand to welcome Jeff Dunham and his team of puppets to Southeast Idaho.
On Friday, September 10, Third Eye Blind sang their best hits in front of an enthusiastic crowd, and the September Slam Demolition Derby closed the fair in front of a traditional sold-out crowd, raising money for the Blackfoot Elks Club’s youth programs.
For the ninth consecutive year, dealers entered the Fairest of Them All food contests. These contests allow food vendors to introduce new items to their menu each year, ensuring that EISF’s fair food remains the best of the best. This year’s winner of the Fairest of Them All — Entrée award went to The Whole Damn Farm by Smoking B’s. The sweetest winner of all was the Ice Birthday Cake Shake & Bake from Creamy Creations. Best Fair Trade New Food – Sweets was awarded to Lemon Smashers’ Whipped Huckleberry Smasher, and Billman’s Catering Smoking Cowboy Burger took home the honors for Best Fair Trade New Food Starter. The People’s Choice Award went to the Mexican Crazy Corn for his Crazy Corn Nachos.

While the 2021 fair cleanup has started and plans are already underway for the 120 at the faire Anniversary in 2022.
