A flight attendant from El Al was hospitalized after contracting a severe case of measles on a Tel Aviv flight to New York last week.
The flight attendant is unconscious and is wearing a respirator, according to reported information. She would have been vaccinated.
A passenger boarded the plane while he was sick with the virus, reported the Jerusalem Post.
Israel has experienced a severe measles epidemic in recent months, mainly because of low vaccination rates in the orthodox haredi community. Two Israelis, an 18-month-old baby and an 82-year-old woman died of the disease.
Haredi communities in New York have also experienced measles outbreaks and low vaccination rates.
