The Southern Nevada Health District has added groups of people eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine. Here’s the latest, according to the state’s COVID-19 vaccine guide.
Age:
65 and over
Professional levels:
Health care workers
Includes staff who work in:
– Hospitals.
– Long-term care workers and residents.
– Laboratories.
– Diagnostic imaging.
– Pharmacies.
– Medical / dental services.
– First responders (EMT / paramedics).
Public safety and security
– Nevada Department of Corrections staff.
– Law enforcement, public security and national security.
– State and local emergency operations managers / personnel.
Frontline community support
– Education (Pre-K & K-12) and childcare – public, private and charter schools.
– Educators, staff and frontline students of the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE).
– Community support frontline staff (i.e. frontline workers who support food, shelter, court / legal services, social services, utilities and other basic necessities of life for groups and individuals in need).
– Continuity of governance (state and local).
– Indispensable public transport: Taxi drivers, Uber and Lyft at national and local level.
– Remaining essential public health staff: public health and environmental health workers specializing in infection control and prevention, health care facility safety and emergency planning, staff public health / community health, including call center agents
– Mortuary services.
Frontline Supply Chain & Logistics (Added March 2)
– Agriculture, farmers, farm workers and ranches, agribusiness support, auctions and sales, feed processing and storage, manufacture of veterinary drugs and biological products, livestock services and markets, slaughterhouses.
– End-to-end essential commodity supply chain (includes manufacturing, transportation, distribution and sale of essential items) This includes warehouses, processing, packaging and distribution (USPS, FedEx, UPS ), couriers, local and long-haul truck drivers, grocery store workers, convenience store workers, drugstore staff, salespeople and support staff essential to business continuity, electrical engineers, staff security, housekeeping staff, e-commerce workers.
– Public service and communication infrastructure, including news providers, water and wastewater workers, dam workers, internet and mobile services, telephone service providers.
– Nevada Department of Transportation and local emergency road personnel, including CDL operators, street cleaners, snow plow operators, traffic incident management, and emergency road crews.
– Critical airport operations, workers who support the air transport of cargo and passengers, including operation, distribution, maintenance and sanitation. Includes air traffic controllers, flight dispatchers, airport operations personnel, flight crews and flight instructors.
– Other essential means of transport include the maintenance of vehicle repairs and the manufacture and distribution of transport equipment; the sale, rental and leasing of vehicles and the supply chains that enable these operations to facilitate business continuity related to the movement of essential workers. Remainder to add to the eligibility list:
– People aged 16 to 64 with underlying conditions and disabilities and the homeless
16 to 64 years considered to be in good health.
– Professional sub-group: Catering, hotels, hygiene services, construction and mining.
