Elon Musk asks for Ethereum development ideas in apparent cap while price stagnates

Tesla founder Elon Musk, a so-called cryptocurrency enthusiast, once again surprised the industry this week by posting content on Ethereum (ETH) on Twitter.

Ethereum markets do not react to musk

In several tweets On April 29, Musk, who became a mythical figure in cryptocurrency, left social media commentators guessing with two words: "Ethereum" and "jk".

The tweets, which remain without official explanation, arrive just a few weeks after Musk also seemed to plug the Dogecoin altecoin (DOGE).

While these tweets contained more obvious compliments, their appearance a day after April Fool's Day suggested that the author was actually less sincere in his adoration of the coin.

Nevertheless, as Bitcoinist Note that DOGE jumped on the release of tweets, which the episode of the ETH seemed to have failed.

On Tuesday, at press time, the ETH / USD had been stable over the last 24 hours, remaining at 157 USD, while Bitcoin (BTC) had lost 1.2% to 5240 USD .

Dogecoin Or Bitcoin Style?

Musk's profile within the crypto jumped earlier this year when he was confronted with calls to join the now-completed Charity Transactions Relay to raise funds for Venezuela.

Known as Lightning Torch, the relay, which used the Bitcoin Lightning network to "travel" from one licensee to another, saw the participation of big names, including Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey.

At the time, Musk refrained from publicly recognizing the presence of the flame or giving reasons for this lack of attention. A more sincere promotion of Bitcoin had nevertheless made him an obvious choice, the technology mogul who called the largest cryptocurrency "pretty brilliant".

One of the theories of the Museum's Ethereum stunt revolves around previous critics of Twitter's scam, which consistently offered false gifts from ETH last year in a notorious phenomenon.

At the time, Musk himself had called on the creator of the Dogecoin, Jackson Palmer, to help him find a technical solution to the robots, which imitated a considerable number of known users in order to associate with fraudulent gifts.

"What should you develop on Ethereum?"

Thus, when Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin invited him to the Devcon project event in October, the answer may have been predictable.

"Stop giving ETH for free!" Replied Musk.

Another tweet produced something oddly more serious, Musk asking Buterin how he envisioned the Ethereum network in the future.

"What should be developed on Ethereum?" wrote Tuesday.

This last message quickly attracted interest from Twitter's well-known crypto-handles. Blockstream's CSO, Samson Mow, proposed "electric rockets" as an option, while shopkeeper and commentator WhalePanda took the opportunity to criticize what he saw as a lack of direction for Ethereum.

"This is a tricky question, because its sole purpose was to give its founders rich promises of decentralization, scalability and ease of use … all of this has been broken steadily," he said. .
