Elon Musk appeared today at the E3 (videogame conference) during an interview with Todd Howard and Geoff Keighley. While the conversation focused mainly on games and scientific subjects, as faster than light and dark matter, part of it focused on Tesla. Elon also answered very interesting general questions.
The conversation began with video games and, coincidentally, Elon's commercial activities also worked. This was followed by the question of whether there is anything in the gaming industry that can advance technology in the automotive fields? To which Elon replied:
"I would not have started programming if it was not for video games. Video games are a very powerful tool to interest children in programming. Creating very realistic graphics with very little computing resources is a very difficult programming challenge. "So, many of the best programmers have at least one day worked for a gaming company.
Elon explained how some of the most advanced technologies in reality, such as SpaceX and Tesla tech, also inspire new possibilities in science fiction. "SpaceX inspires intrigue in video games." Science fiction writers turn to Elon for inspiration.
As for Tesla, Elon mentioned some interesting facts, such as how Tesla is developing self-piloting and photorealistic simulations. Although it was not entirely clear, he was probably talking about the next Tesla dojo simulation.
"At Tesla, a whole team of simulators is trying to create a photorealistic world. We try to be photorealistic about the most boring things, like skid marks and concrete edges, faded lines. Here are some more interesting quotes from Elon Musk explaining the difficulties associated with creating an autonomous car:
"The reason why autonomous driving is difficult is due to all situations, such as when the road should be one-way but not."
"If you have well drawn lines and you can rely on them, self-driving would be a kid's game."
"Where should I be on this road without painted or poorly painted lines?"
We also learned that Tesla's non-autonomous computer was seriously limited. As Elon said:
"Tesla's computer does not have a lot of memory. It was never designed as an entertainment center, so there will not be many games at the same time. "
Elon also reiterated other interesting goals. He wants to: "Allow people to watch videos, whether Netflix or YouTube, when the car is parked." Something that, according to the previous information, will be available to the public in the V10. Although this previously only mentioned Netflix. If the ability to watch YouTube also arrives at Tesla, then it is a very interesting new information. However, all this will not be presented in the form of an application. Everything will be easily accessible via the new chrome-based web browser that Tesla launched a few months ago.

At E3, they also presented two video games, one based on the story and the other, a racing game using the steering wheel and the brake pedal. The scroll wheel will be used for acceleration because it is too risky to advance the car by accidentally pressing the accelerator pedal. In addition, although this is not shown in the video, it was mentioned that Fallout Shelter for Tesla is currently in preparation.
Elon also discussed the next van. After repeating that the van would adopt a cyberpunk sci-fi style and be unveiled later this summer, Elon gave a new description of the van: "It looks like a normal car, but also seems not to be . on the road. To know what Elon meant by that, we'll have to wait a little longer, but that makes it even more exciting.

Finally, there was a question and answer session. After listening to the boring questions of bonehead analysts from a previous call from Tesla analysts earlier in the day (to prepare for the next call), the type of questions asked here contrasted a little.
Although we would not go into the details of some irrelevant questions, there are some interesting ones that have dealt with Elon's general life experiences over the years.
One of the questions was how Elon handled all the FUDs (manufactured fear, uncertainty and doubt) and madness in the mainstream media. Although Elon did not have a clear answer to this question, he posed rhetorically: "Can we reduce the difficulty level by one notch? Right next to the level of nightmare?
Although this is not part of the Q & A, the context is that Elon has had difficult years. Previously, he had stated that "in recent years, I have not really played a lot of games … the last game I played a lot was probably Fallout 4." Poor Elon – I really sympathize.
Another question was: "What is the biggest failure you have experienced?"
Elon replied: "At first I had blown up 3 rockets, it was bad" and "If the 4th rocket had not been launched, we would not have SpaceX and we We would not have Tesla. "
The best way to conclude is with what I would say without a doubt were my 2 favorite Elon quotes from E3:
"If the reality was a video game, the graphics are excellent, the plot is terrible and the duration of the appearance is very long."
"If you try to understand what others like, but you do not like it, it's very difficult to do that as well. So when you work on something, if you fall in love with it, that's a good sign. Do not worry if others do it. If you do, others will do it. "
