John Krasinski returned to direct the sequel to the 2018 horror sensation.

Paramount is making noise for the suite of A silent place.

The studio is in talks with Emily Blunt and the stars of kid Millicent Simmonds and Noah Skirt to resume their family roles struggling to survive in a creepy world with creatures targeting the sound.

John Krasinski, who directed and played in the original, is expected to realize the sequel, which will take place in front of the cameras from the end of the summer. Krasinski instinctively encrypted his involvement on Friday, writing "… it's time to go back".

Krasinski was already writing the screenplay and it was an open secret that he would be heading into the city. More interesting are the player discussions.

Simmonds and Skirt would be under option, which means that at the conclusion of their contracts, the studio reserved them for any possible follow-up, as unlikely as it may seem with a horror film presenting almost no dialogue and costing than $ 17 million.

Things changed $ 340 million later. The budget for the new movie will be much higher, though how much remains uncertain as the script is still being written. The rise in the budget, however, means that rising stars could be affected by payroll.

Another foil in the discussions is Blunt. The actress orders a high seven-figure salary for most studio tickets – she's received between $ 8 and $ 9 million for the latest movie she's finished, Cruise in the jungle, say the sources – but Quiet place at a much lower rate – the sources say that it was about $ 1 million, ignoring the end result and profit-sharing – given that the film was an exciting project for his husband, Krasinski. Insiders say that she will again try to take a cut to be part of the sequel.

Discussions with the actors indicate that Krasinski, producers Andrew Form, Brad Fuller and Michael Bay, as well as Paramount have agreed on a definitive story for the future. The team considered two options for follow-up: one would have focused on a whole new aspect of the post-apocalyptic world depicting creatures and the other on the saga of the protective mother and her children.

Blunt is relaunched by CAA, The Artists Partnership and Sloane Offer. Simmonds is reopened by Paradigm. Skirt is replaced by CAA, Grandview and Hansen Jacobson.
