The Columbia County authorities warn people to closely monitor the raging gray fox that has attacked a woman. CBS Albany reports that it happened Saturday afternoon at the Roe-Jan Boat Club near Germantown
The victim told CBS that she was near the water when the fox attacked, causing panic, screaming and confusion from the assembled crowd. CBS reports that someone at the party shot the fox. The Columbia County Department of Health confirms that the fox has tested positive for rabies.
They also said that it was not the first incident in the area. Edward Coons, director of the Environmental Health Services Department of Health, said that another gray fox had attacked a woman in Hudson about a month ago.
