In September, the Eastern Shore Public Library (ESPL) joins the American Library Association and libraries across the country for Library Card Enrollment Month, a time to remind everyone that a library is an important step towards lifelong learning and academic success. During this month, we would like to encourage parents to enroll their children for their own library card. With the start of the school year, a library card will provide them with many resources that will help them in their educational journey. Anyone looking to get a library card can visit any of the four East Coast libraries and ask how to get a library or apply online.

Throughout the month of September, ESPL will be offering some exciting programs. This month’s on-the-go kit will include all of the supplies needed to make library card cords as well as additional activity sheets. Library staff would love to see all the cords you make, so if you post any photos on Instagram please tag us @esplyouthservice. We also organize a gift for any child who has or obtains a library card. All you have to do is visit Beanstack.espl.org and enter the September library card registration month draw. Complete the online raffle registration and you will automatically have a chance to win a surprise gift basket at the end of the month.

If you have any questions, please email our Youth Services Librarian, Tiffany Flores, at [email protected] or call 757-787-3400.
