Ethan and Olivia met as a teenager
Olivia and Ethan met in North Carolina at a summer camp for Christian homeschool families. Both were only 16 at the time, and both came from large families with similar religious backgrounds and cultural values.

“I always thought she was stylish,” Ethan exclaimed of Olivia. “When I first saw her I was like, ‘Oh, wow. Without a doubt, she is the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. By the time I saw her, I lost my appetite for two weeks. I was in depth. They were powerful emotions.

Olivia wasn’t a big fan of Ethan at first
While Ethan had no doubts about how he felt for Olivia, she didn’t feel the same. In fact, she thought her camp mate was quite boring and immature – mostly because he followed her every chance he got, trying to get her attention.
“She didn’t like me at first,” Ethan said, “and I don’t blame her.
Calling his young self ‘boring’ and ‘awkward’, the Welcome to Plathville star admitted that he thought the best way to get Olivia’s attention was to constantly joke. In response, Olivia saw him as some kind of loudmouth.
Later, after Ethan and Olivia started dating, she admitted that she fell in love at first. But Ethan was so aggressive and over the top with his obvious crush that he “pushed her away”.

The stars of ‘Welcome to Plathville’ ended up reconnecting thanks to handwritten letters
Despite their differences, Olivia and Ethan discovered that they have a lot in common. They came from similar families with almost identical beliefs, but both questioned their faith and carefully considered their future.
the Welcome to Plathville the stars haven’t seen each other in person for two and a half years. But they kept their budding romance alive by writing letters back and forth. Ethan’s growing maturity was reflected in his letters, and the couple eventually reconnected and began dating at the age of 18 before tying the knot at 20.
As for Ethan, he wasn’t upset that he hadn’t been able to play on the pitch before he married his sweetheart – far from it. In fact, he had always hoped he would marry his first girlfriend.
“I always wanted the first girl I dated to be the one I married,” Ethan said. “It must have been sentimental. We had to “love each other forever”. It was exactly what I wanted.
However, this was not her only reason for getting married. Ethan explained that he was also more than ready to step out of his parents’ control and assert his independence. He believed that having a family of his own would be the best way to move, leave and live his own life.
