The African Development Bank (AfDB), through its Technology for African Agricultural Transformation (TAAT) initiative, provided $ 40 million to finance projects in 27 countries.

According to the coordinator, TAAT's three objectives are to increase agricultural production, facilitate the efficient delivery of technology to farmers and create an enabling environment for farmers to adopt technologies.
The ILRI representative, Dr. Tunde Amole, said at the meeting that the TAAT aims primarily to promote high quality cbadava mash (HQCP) for the livestock industry.
He stated that HQCP could be fortified and used to feed livestock, especially poultry and pigs.
