Gaborone – Botswana Strongly Believes in the Ideals of Finding President Mokgweetsi Masisi

He was officially opening The Joint Post-Tana Joint Regional Forum Multi-Stakeholder Meeting in Gaborone on July 18.

The President said the Tana joint multi-stakeholder forum provided a platform for further questioning of issues of full ownership of the peace and security process in Africa

He said the meeting, whose objective was to brainstorm and come up with concrete policies and directions to address issues of peace and security in Africa was timely, just immediately after the 31st African Union summit.

He said the summit of the state of peace and security on the continent, progress on the implementation of the AU Master Roadmap on Practical Steps to Silencing the Guns

"The theme, as you remember, focused on the scourge of corruption on the continent and its related consequences on peace, stability and socio-economic development," he said. said

Mr Masisi said African leaders, at the various levels, and continued to expound a wide range of peace and security initiatives aimed at preventing, managing and resolving conflicts and crisis situations on the continent. However, he said, violence and conflict on the continent continued unabated, inhibiting social and political progress and limiting the need for economic growth.

Mr Masisi further said platforms such as the Tana Forum were needed in the search for a collective response to minimizing protracted conflicts in Africa, in addition to the existing Peace and Security Architecture, the Continental Early Warning Systems, the Panel of the Wi (19659011) Post Tana Forum is a follow-up to the April 2018 7th Tana Forum held in Ethiopia which brings together African Leaders and Stakeholders Engage and explore African-led security solutions.

The two-day meeting will discuss the themes of advancing the outcomes of the Tana Forum in 1965: The Forum will also be debated on the Peace and Fundamentals of the United States and the United States,
