Bandai Namco officially confirmed that the role play Digimon Survive will head west in 2019. The announcement was accompanied by a trailer, as well only some hints about the type of content that the game will feature and what kind of Digimon will be available to collaborate with. It seems like a lot of familiar faces will be back this time.

The game follows Takuya Momotsuka, who is suddenly transported to a strange new world filled with strange creatures after being lost during a school camping trip. With his partner Agumon, he will be in charge of exploring the new world and finding his bearings. Of course, there will also be other new teen characters with him, and everyone will try to find a way to get home while working with their monster allies.

While there will be a considerable amount of exploration, the chat zones of the game will feature anime scenes and portraits with 2D illustrations. Some game elements will be based on how players respond to different choices, and there will also be scenes of investigation. Regarding combat, there will be a series of SRPG-style battles with confrontations that take place on grid-based battlefields.

The game is targeting a 2019 release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC just in time for the 20th anniversary of the original animated series. It looks like it's the right time to go back to Digimon before the game's debut.
