How to use Alexa Cast

This week, Amazon launched Alexa Cast for its range of Echo smart speakers. Alexa Cast allows you to stream audio from the Amazon Music app on your phone to the speakers connected to Echo and Alexa, like the Sonos One, without having to use your voice.

To connect Amazon Music to Alexa Cast

1. First, log in and open the Amazon Music app. Choose a song you would like to play.
2. Swipe up to see your music commands. Tap the Alexa Cast icon (located to the right of the shuffle centered button). Tap and select the speaker connected to Alexa or Echo in which you are already connected.
3. You are now using Amazon Cast. You can also ask Alexa to change the volume with your voice and skip or play / pause songs.
4. If you want to listen to music with your phone, just tap the Alexa Cast icon at the bottom. A menu appears in which you can press "Disconnect" on the speaker connected to Alexa.

The Echo can also be used as a standard Bluetooth speaker to play any audio source from your phone or tablet without using your voice.

If you also want to use your Echo with a Bluetooth speaker [19659010] Press the Gear Settings icon at the bottom right. Tap and select your Echo, just above "This Device".
