By default, OnePlus 5 only provides you with basic application notification commands – you can allow or block all notifications . There is an option to place them low priority (which means they appear only at the bottom of the notification center). If you want more control over the notifications, you can activate OnePlus Laboratory – a hidden feature in the Oxygen operating system (this means that it should also work on the next OnePlus 5T). Hold the gear icon on the notification bar for 7 to 10 seconds and when you leave it, a message stating that the lab has been activated is showing. You can access it from Settings> OnePlus Lab and the only thing it has at the moment is to strengthen the notification controls. When this option is enabled, you can set the importance level of each application notification. You have a choice of 5 levels that allow you to adjust the interruption, the look of the eye, the sounds and vibrations for incoming notifications. Keep in mind that you will need to go to Settings> Applications> Application Name> Notifications to adjust these controls individually for each application.
