Nintendo still plans to ship 20 million Switch consoles for the current fiscal year, he said at his recent meeting of 39; shareholders.

It was the last meeting of former President Tatsumi Kimishima As president, he held the post of interim CEO after the death of Satoru Iwata in 2015. Kimishima was replaced by Shuntaro Furukawa in last June.

A transcript of the meeting is available online, although in Japanese.

Kimishima The company 's plan to ship 20 million Switch units for the current fiscal year – between April 2018 and March 2019 – still has not changed. The company is confident that it can secure the production volumes required for such an important shipping goal.

Nintendo switch production issues

Nintendo experienced some production problems in the past fiscal year, senior executive Susumu Tanaka admitted. difficulty in securing some components, such as memory. But discussing the momentum of the switch with the manufacturers, it will be easy to solve the production problems, believes Tanaka.

Kimishima also looked at the most recent E3 presentation of the company, especially on why. Last June, the Direct group left many fans disappointed, most of them complaining of the obvious lack of information on some of the company's most anticipated titles, including Metroid Prime 4 and the highly anticipated Animal Crossing Title of the switch. Kimishima explained that the company has more to announce in the following months, including products for the upcoming holiday period. Nintendo, he says, is just waiting for the right moment to announce its full range.

Nintendo E3 Presentation

Despite a rather disappointing E3 presentation, the Switch is selling like hotcakes in many countries, especially in the United States, where the Switch has become the best-selling console of all time. After a terrible trip with the Wii U, Nintendo has another winner in his hands. It must maintain the momentum of the console in order to make the Switch as powerful as the DS or Wii, as unlikely as it may be.

Nintendo does not share sales reports frequently, but at the price that Switch units are selling, it's easy to imagine that Nintendo will easily reach its 20 million shipping goal. Again, the important thing is to keep the console going – and also for Nintendo to continue to do a good job in terms of marketing. The Switch has a killer concept: a living room console that you can take anywhere. Now, it's time to get out of the killer games, too. Mario and Zelda will not last long fans
