The dawn of the 5G is almost here, and while the 2019 iPhones are not likely to support the faster wireless data speed standard, it is still likely that Apple will adopt soon 5G. Android will be the first to 5G, just as it was for 4G a few years ago, and Samsung phones will likely be among the first devices to support ultra-fast wireless networks.
With the advent of the 5G, however, faster data transfer will need new-generation smartphone parts to handle faster speeds, including RAM and flash memory. And it turns out that a new standard of RAM is ready to handle all the needs of the 5G.
Samsung announced Tuesday the new 8GB LPDDR5 chip that comes to add to Samsung's 10nm premium DRAM range.
The chip is supposed to power low-power mobile memory solutions and should help with 5G, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML).
Samsung's 8Gb LPDDR5 RAM memory has a transfer rate of up to 6,400 megabits per second (Mb / s) or 1.5 times faster than the LPDDR4X RAM found in high-end devices current. Before you ask, the iPhone X packages the LPDDR4X RAM, just like the Galaxy S9.
What is the speed of 6400 Mb / s? It can transfer 51.2 GB of data, or 14 full HD video files in one second, how fast it is.
In addition, the new chip has additional features that will help increase the battery life on mobile devices:

The Samsung press release does not specify The company announces having completed the functional testing and validation, in collaboration with global chip vendors, of a prototype 8-GB LPDDR5 DRAM consisting of eight chips LPDDR5 of 8GB.
The RAM of the iPhone X comes from Samsung, Hynix's competitor, while the Galaxy S9 has Samsung's memory in the interior. But Samsung seems already ready to offer RAM solutions for 5G devices, and its LPDDR5 package is likely to power various Galaxy S, X, and Note flagship stores, and possibly even the iPhone X 5G of the future close. In fact, it would not be surprising to see the LPDDR5 RAM in Samsung's 2018 flagships, including the Galaxy S10, the Galaxy X and the Galaxy Note 10. At least one of them, if not all, should be ready for the 5G.
