Executive Actions: Here’s What Biden Should Do On Inauguration Day

Day one actions include imposing a mask warrant on federal property and installing a coronavirus response coordinator to oversee White House Biden’s efforts to distribute vaccines and medical supplies.

Biden also plans to quash several of Trump’s attempts to withdraw from international agreements, join the Paris climate accord, and halt the United States’ departure from the World Health Organization – where the Dr Anthony Fauci, the government’s foremost infectious disease expert, will lead the US delegation.

And it will reverse some of Trump’s toughest immigration crackdowns, ending travel bans from some Muslim-majority countries and halting funding for the border wall.

Biden will sign the executive orders and memoranda in the Oval Office on Wednesday afternoon, his new press secretary Jen Psaki told reporters. Psaki and other senior Biden officials have said the first-day actions are just part of what will be a series of moves to reverse Trump’s policies and implement Biden’s campaign promises in the during his first weeks in power.
