Eye drops sold at Walmart and Walgreens on manufacturer's recall Altaire

The stores, as well as certain prescription preparations sold through other retailers, would be voluntarily recalled by the manufacturer Altaire Pharmaceuticals Inc., based on notices posted on the Food and Drug Administration's website. USA Today reported Sunday that some 150 batches of its 23 lines of products manufactured by Altaire might not be sufficiently sterile, providing information to identify each of the affected items. The USA Today report indicated that no adverse effects had been reported.
