Family members say Jessica Berg Wilson was a one of a kind, a “beautiful soul” whose passions were motherhood and being a volunteer “room mom” at her community school.
But slowly the stay-at-home mom felt her freedom to choose was being taken away by the COVID-19 mandates, they say.
“She felt inside that she had no more choice in this matter,” said her husband, Tom Wilson. “These mandates are heavy.
Eventually, Jessica, 37, agreed to receive a mandatory COVID-19 injection so that she could continue her volunteer work.
Her family believe the decision cost Jessica her life.
“She was fiercely opposed to the vaccine, knowing that she was healthy and young and therefore was not at risk of contracting serious illness,” reads her obituary. “In his mind, the known and unknown risks of the unproven vaccine were more of a threat.”
On September 7, Jessica died of COVID-19 vaccine-induced thrombotic thrombocytopenia, her husband told The Epoch Times. Jessica’s doctor confirmed this diagnosis, he said.
At her funeral on October 2, Jessica’s uncle, Tom Ivancie, delivered the eulogy.
“Jessica died as a direct result of an experimental vaccine, a vaccine Jessica vehemently objected to taking,” Ivancie said. “She felt constrained. She felt deprived of her ability to choose. Her ability to say “no” to a medical procedure she did not want was taken away. “
To add insult to injury to a family tragedy, Ivancie said her Twitter posts about Jessica’s death were censored and labeled as misinformation, “causing us to suffer a second death.”
Jessica is survived by her husband, daughters, Bridget, 5, and Clara, 3, her parents, Arthur Berg and Gwen Berg. She is also survived by her sister, Elizabeth Berg, and brother, John Berg, many extended family members, as well as a great friendship group and a great community.
“Jessica has fully embraced motherhood, sharing her passion for life with her daughters,” her obituary reads. “Jessica’s maternal commitment was intense, with an unwavering determination to educate her children to be confident, humble, responsible, and to have concern and compassion for others with a high faith-based morality.
“Jessica’s biggest passion was being the best mother possible for Bridget and Clara. Nothing would prevent her from being present in their life.
Hundreds of memorial messages to the Wilson family bear witness to the impact of her passing, even among those who did not know her.
“I didn’t know Jessica, but I was touched by her story. My sincere condolences; too young, too early! May your family be blessed with comfort, healing love, and peace in the days to come. I send heart hugs across the miles, ”wrote Yvonne Dixon.
“I am very sorry for your loss and pray that you will feel the comfort of God at this time. As the wife and mother of three young daughters, I can only imagine your heartache. Jessica was a classmate in high school, and I remember her kindness. God bless you, ”Ali wrote.
Jessica’s decision to get the shot was not an easy one, Tom said.
“We are not against people who get vaccinated,” he said. “We don’t tell people not to get the vaccine. There is no policy here.
Tom said he received a COVID-19 vaccine because his job required him to travel. But Jessica “wasn’t about to be kicked out” from volunteer service, he said.
“As a husband, I am really disgusted with social media,” Tom said.
“For the Wilson family, the world has lost an ‘irreplaceable person,’ he said.
“You can’t replace someone like that – a beautiful soul.”
COVID-19 is the disease caused by the virus of the CCP (Chinese Communist Party).
