Zach Smith, a former state-wide Ohio State Trainer-Receiver, was arrested by the Delaware County Sheriff's Office on Thursday after an altercation at an elementary school violated his Emergency Preparedness Order .

Smith was taken to Delaware County Jail after Scioto Ridge Elementary School teachers did not let him pick up his children, as Kyle Rowland reports from the Toledo Blade.

The state of Ohio fired the former Buckeye assistant coach on July 23 on charges of spousal violence from his former wife, Courtney Smith, which led her to file a court order. civil protection.

The spousal abuse charges led to a university investigation that resulted in suspensions of former head coach Urban Meyer and athletic director Gene Smith for treating Smith on Aug. 22.

The violation is a crime and Smith will be waiting for his appearance at 10 am on Friday.
