CLEVELAND, Ohio – Former Ohio Department of Health Director Dr Amy Acton is sounding the alarm as the coronavirus spreads to all parts of the state.
In an interview with the Columbus Dispatch, Acton, who stepped down as director on June 11, said the COVID-19 pandemic still has months to impact us.
Acton, who has been silent since her resignation, said the current surge in cases was just the tip of the iceberg.
“So it’s the Titanic at this point and you can’t turn the Titanic in no time,” Acton told The Dispatch. “So we go down. It’s a bit of a drop, so let’s minimize the amount. “
Acton, along with other experts at Ohio State University, projected that the state could process about 10,000 new cases of COVID-19 per day. However, this kind of peak never happened during the Acton era.
