Panthers at Vikings: interim injury reports

[ad_1]

While we’re at home trying to figure out where we put our pants on, the Minnesota Vikings and Carolina Panthers continue to prepare for Sunday’s game at US Bank Stadium. They both released their second injury report of the week, so let’s take a look at the changes that have been made.

First, let’s look at Carolina’s injury report.

Did not participate

  • G Dennis Daley (concussion)
  • CB Donte Jackson (toe)

Limited participation

  • S Sam Franklin (ankle, downgrade full participation Wednesday)
  • RB Christian McCaffrey (shoulder)
  • G John Miller (knee / ankle)
  • OT Russell Okung (calf)

Total participation

  • FB Alex Armah (ankle)
  • QB Teddy Bridgewater (knee)
  • BY Marquis Haynes (shoulder)
  • WR DJ Moore (shoulder)
  • LB Tahir Whitehead (coast)
  • WR Brandon Zylstra (shoulder, new addition to injury report)

Bridgewater still seems to be on track to start at quarterback, and while McCaffrey is training in limited capacity, everything I see indicates he’s out this week. We’ll have to see if that happens. . . Obviously that would be a big help for the Minnesota defense if it did.

Speaking of the Vikings, here is their injury report for this Thanksgiving Day.

Did not participate

  • G Ezra Cleveland (ankle)
  • TE Irv Smith Jr. (groin / back, downgrade limited on Wednesdays)

Limited participation

  • DE Ifeadi Odenigbo (shoulder / concussion, improve DNP Wednesday)
  • G Dru Samia (uninjured, improve DNP Wednesday)
  • S Harrison Smith (neck, improve DNP Wednesday)

Total participation

  • OT Brian O’Neill (shoulder)

Three of the four players who sat outside of Wednesday’s session were back Thursday in limited capacity, including Harrison Smith. This is very good news here. Sadly, Cleveland is still outside of what’s known as a high ankle sprain, and Irv Smith Jr. appears to have regressed as he sat on Thursday after being restricted on Wednesday.

The final injury reports for the week will be released tomorrow, my friends, and we’ll have them here for you when they fall.
