Former Yankee Mike Pagliarulo was fired while the Marlins hit a coach

MIAMI – Mike Pagliarulo was sacked as coach-coach of the Miami Marlins, who rank last in the majors in points.

Pagliarulo has been part of the team since 2017. Stroke Coach Jeff Livesey has been promoted to Acting Head Coach and Eric Duncan has been appointed Assistant Coach.

Baseball operations chairman Michael Hill said the changes had been made because the Marlins were capable of a more offensive attack. They were out in consecutive games this week against the Chicago Cubs, and Pagliarulo's referrals were announced after winning a 3-2 win over Washington on Sunday night.

Five starters finished the game with an average of at least 2.34.

Pagliarulo played eleven seasons in major tournaments, starting with the New York Yankees in 1984 and helping Minnesota win the 1991 World Series.
