Fortnite Season 5 playable skins include God of War’s Kratos

As if Fortnite isn’t busy enough, now Kratos, from PlayStation’s God of War franchise, will be joining the game as a playable skin.

Official PlayStation Twitter made a rather clumsy tease from this crossing at 2 p.m. Wednesday, and Fortnite Hypex, the social media maven, followed with a few images showing Kratos’ placement in the game.

“The next guy you pick up has literally defeated several gods, with his bare hands, in a fit of uncontrollable rage,” Agent Jones, the Fortnite lore character trying to piece together reality, says in the teaser. It narrows things down a bit.

FortniteSeason 5, Chapter 2 began at midnight, and its ‘Zero Point’ theme means pretty much anything goes. Galactus, the world devourer from the Marvel Universe, found himself on set on Tuesday, plunging everything into space-time chaos and starting a big crossover-palooza.

We already have The Mandalorian and his loyal sidekick Baby Yoda (real name: Grogu). There’s also a… er, sensible plate of buttered flapjacks in a cowboy hat. So, yes, anything that makes Kratos visit any plane of existence is pretty tame in comparison. Performed with art, Fortnite head of continuity, whoever you are.

Kratos’ Fortnite the shape is based on his beard God of the war (2018), but still recognizable Kratos, with the distinctive war paint and pale, deadly skin. Kratos will likely return in a sequel, once again in Norse Myth, to PlayStation 5 sometime in 2021.
