Fox has quietly implemented his own version of a vaccine passport as his main personalities attack them

But Fox Corporation, the parent company of the right-wing TV station, has quietly implemented the concept of a vaccine passport as workers slowly return to the company’s offices.

Fox employees, including those working at Fox News, received an email, obtained by CNN Business, from the company’s human resources department in early June, stating that Fox had “developed a safe and voluntary way to employees to self-certify their immunization status. “

The system allows employees to self-report to Fox the dates their injections were given and the vaccines used.

The company encouraged employees to report their status, telling them that “providing this information to FOX will help the company plan space and find contacts.”

Employees who report their status are allowed to bypass the otherwise required daily health check, according to a follow-up email those who reported their immunization status received.

“Thank you for providing FOX with your vaccination information,” the email said. “You are no longer required to take your daily health exam via WorkCare / WorkMatters. “

The concept, which was first reported on Monday by Ryan Grim on The Hill’s streaming morning show, is known internally as “FOX Clear Pass.”

Although the “Fox Clear Pass” is voluntary for employees and other companies have similar tools, it remains remarkable, given how much Fox’s top talent has criticized the concept of the vaccine passport.

Fox News has spent months portraying the idea that people could be asked to show their vaccination status as dangerous to personal freedom and anti-American.

Fox also touted the rejection of vaccine passports by Republican officials like Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

Fox Corporation and Fox News spokespersons did not respond to questions on Monday as to why the right-wing talk channel so strongly opposed vaccine passports when the company itself implemented a version.

This isn’t the first time Fox has been so blatantly hypocritical about coronavirus precautions.

While its TV hosts have complained about face masks, the company has issued guidelines recommending that employees wear them. He also said that people attending the recordings of host Greg Gutfeld’s show should wear masks.

It is not known whether Fox will require vaccinations when employees fully return to the office. Hundreds of Fox employees are already back to work to some extent. When CNN began reopening its facilities in June, vaccinations were required to enter.

Fox said he hopes to fully reopen his offices after Labor Day.
