The Association for the maintenance of a peasant agriculture (Amap) of Languidic was created in 2009. At present, it has 35 members and 10 farmers.
Solidarity
In all, there are ten. Ten producers of dairy products, vegetables, cider and apple juice, eggs, fresh fruits and jams, batbouts, honey and products derived from them, poultry, breads and brioches, beef and natural cosmetic soaps to have gathered around a project : the Amap (Association for the maintenance of a peasant agriculture) of Languidic
All the farmers of the Amap of Languidic feed "baskets", which are distributed every week, either on the place Saint-Pierre, to the mille-club, according to the season.
Against 7 € per week, they undertake to take a basket made by farmers, without knowing what it contains.
The Amap are « a partnership between a consumer group and a farm. It is based on a system of basket consisting of farm produce " explains the president of the structure, Nicolas Toussenot.
Grant-giving
This partnership is also based on a financial commitment of the consumer's share.
He pays in advance his consumption for a predefined period, depending on the nature of the operation.
It is also a contract of trust, because the Amap allows a fair price for the partners. The farmer finds there the guarantee of an income and the maintenance of its activity and the Amapien, the guarantee of having fresh and seasonal products, often cultivated biologically.
Beyond these criteria one finds the contract solidarity that leads to a form of short circuit.
It also results in food security and taste, dialogue, respect for diversity, better management of land and the maintenance of fertile land, which triggers an action for the employment by the installation of young farmers.
