On July 19, 2018, M6 aired a new episode of Beijing Express 2018: The Infernal Race . Last week, Vanessa and Audrey were eliminated and Gaëlle and Elodie had to leave the adventure at the announcement of the death of her father. What happened in this new episode? Here is the summary!
After a first stage rich in twists, Maxime and Alizée, the young couple from Neuilly; Estelle and Estelle, the Belgian girlfriends; Mehdi and Osama, childhood friends; Maurice and Thierry, the octogenarian father and his son Nice and Martin and Laetitia, the accomplice couple began their second leg on the banks of the iconic lake of Batang Ai Jetty . Stéphane Rotenberg has gathered all the candidates to welcome the unknown duo who replaces Gaëlle and Audrey: Florian (31 years old) and Gabriel (22 years old).
NEW RULE
After the first amused reactions of the casting, the presenter launched the race by applying a new rule: that of grouped teams (each pair will have to race with another team). Only Gabriel and Florian had the advantage of racing together. They also had the responsibility to train the teams: Maxime and Alizée were with both Estelle while Mehdi and Osama joined Christina and Didier. Martin and Laetitia, for their part, met with Maurice and Thierry. The teams being formed, Stéphane gave the instructions and started the race.
For the first round, the candidates had to join Stéphane Rotenberg at Kampung Telian for the immunity test. In order to qualify for the latter, their mission was to arrive in the small town of Pusa before 2.30 pm. The team worn by Maxime is the first to leave thanks to the determination and pbadion of the young man. On the contrary, Maurice's is the last. The 80-year-old dad played his old age to find a car and the technique paid off. During the journey, Gabriel and Florian met. Surprise, the latter even began to sing on Johnny Hallyday. All of a sudden, the weather has deteriorated and the forbidden car sign has popped up. The candidates had to take the ferry! After this event that did not please everyone, Maxime's team kept its lead. Beacon sounded at 4 pm, announcing the end of the day
All teams had to find accommodation at the premises. Thanks to their determination, they were welcomed by families. Mehdi's group took a seat in a church and discovered Christina's singing skills. Maxime's was housed in a nice house while Gabriel and Florian had their first homestay experience. For its part, the team of Mauritius quickly found a place to leave their luggage.
DAY 4
The candidates said goodbye to their hosts and resumed the race. For this new day, their mission was to gather the heaviest fruit at Jalan Igu . Once again, Maxime's team arrived at their destination first. But, the arrival time did not matter! Only the weight of the fruit counted. Thus, it is the group of Maurice who won the event. The latter chose Didier and Christina to face them during the immunity test. The group binomial rule being over, the other candidates spent the evening in the heart of the floating village of Kampung Telian .
PROOF OF IMMUNITY
Maurice and Thierry, Martin and Laetitia and Christina and Didier ended up at the restaurant for a taste test. They had to eat dishes both surprising and unappetizing: worms, maggots, jellyfish jelly or shark liver. Maurice and Didier arrived in the final and had to eat fish eyes. Finally, Didier and Christina won the immunity test. They are guaranteed to participate in the third stage!
THE RETURN OF THE BLACK FLAG
The famous flag has made its big comeback. The team that had it on the finish line was downgraded by one place in the standings. To get rid of it, the duo had to be in a car and give it to a duo on foot. Qualified, Christina and Didier chose to give first to Gabriel and Florian, who ends in tears.
Waiting for candidates to Bintulu (ie 250 kilometers), Stéphane Rotenberg has launched the race again. Unsurprisingly, Maxime and Alizée were the first to leave. Gabriel and Florian found a car and then gave the black flag to Osama and Mehdi. The two friends were distraught and ended up fighting for the same car with Maurice and Thierry. Finally, Mehdi makes a big mistake, which has upset Osama. They argue and then reconcile after finding a car. With great luck, they manage to give Maurice and Thierry the black flag and take the road again. The father and the son do not despair and are forced to give it back to Laetitia and Martin, the last of the competition.
Maxime and Alizée arrive first at Bintulu. Happy, the couple wins a second amulet of 10,000 euros. Martin and Laetitia are the last and they choose Gabriel and Florian for the final duel. Like last week, this ultimate event is a small hitchhiking race. It is Laetitia and Gabriel who volunteer to do it. The two candidates start an incredible race and had to complete a mission to Kampung Jepak : they had to convince 20 people to board a ferry with them. After having validated it, Gabriel and Laetitia were neck and neck. It is finally the pair of Florian who won the final duel. Unfortunately, Laetitia and Martin discover that the first stage is indeed eliminatory. The disappointment is total. The couple restores its tag to Stéphane Rotenberg which means the end of the adventure.
