STAR WARS – This time it's official. While the presence of the late actress Carrie Fisher in the episode IX of "Star Wars" had been evoked, the one who embodied so long the legendary princess Leia was announced in the casting by the production Friday, July 27.

" With the support and blessing of her daughter, Billie, we found a way to honor Carrie's legacy in Episode IX using unpublished footage we shot together for Episode VII, "says the director. JJ Abrams in a statement

Au New York Daily News in April, Todd Fisher's brother reported that he and his niece had agreed to use footage shot but not used.

A combination that allows Disney avoiding the use of digital special effects, the famous CGI, which sparked debates on the release of "Rogue One" with the return of Grand Moff Tarkin played by Peter Cushing who died in 1994.

Also included in Casting Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Isaac Oscar, Lupita Nyong'o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Tran Marie, Joonas Suotamo, and Carrie Fisher's daughter, Billie Heavy. Filming will begin next week, August 1st.

Note that the appearance of the "real" princess Leia in the next installment of the saga of George Lucas does not seem to be unanimous among fans. On Twitter, the first reactions to this announcement have been mixed to say the least on the other side of the Atlantic, as shown by the tweets below:

"I love you J.J. Abrams!"

Sigh … they're going to CGI Carrie Fisher into Ep IX. That's exactly what I did not want.

All things considered, this is probably the best option for Carrie Fisher and Leia. I'm glad we'll see her on screen again, I'll miss her, and I'm going to have this all settled. https://t.co/uKv0996bcq
