A few days after the second Paris edition of the traveling festival, many festival-goers who fell ill expressed their indignation on social networks.
For its second edition, which took place on July 21st and 22nd, Lollapalooza Paris was expected by thousands of festival goers. Attracted by an enticing program, which brought together among others Travis Scott, Gorillaz, Depeche Mode, Vald or Nekfeu in battle with The Killers, they all climbed the Longchamp racecourse under a blazing sun. But for some of them, the euphoria of the weekend quickly fell back the following days.

Indigestion, stomach ache, vomiting … Some festival-goers expressed their astonishment on the social networks after having describes similar symptoms. According to them, they would have been intoxicated after consuming non-drinking water at the festival site. To quench their thirst in this summer heat and avoid spending a fortune on mineral water at the various bars (3 euros per bottle all the same), the festival-goers preferred to turn to the water points arranged at the toilet corners.
First day at @lollapaloozafr 19h30: the bars refuse to serve water and soft drinks despite full fridges (but apparently closed with prohibition to touch). Given the heat it makes, it's just wicked and dangerous

Water not drinkable?
Sunday, July 22 The organizers of the festival announced on the facebook page of the event that they set up two drinking water points. The day before, these water points were obviously accompanied by a sign "unsafe water". Since then, the addicted festival-goers are indignant on the social networks. As for the organizers, they responded on Thursday afternoon with a press release denying any intoxication of the water.

UPDATE: the Lollapalooza festival has reacted by sending us a note
"The conditions of safety and hygiene of an event of the magnitude of Lollapalooza are strictly supervised and controlled.
As soon as the doors were opened on Saturday, there were two drinking water zones on the festival, identified, treated and certified as such, representing a total of 116 drinking water taps, one of the lowest ratios. highest of all the festivals in the Paris region.
On the other water points, although the water is drinkable, because of the heat and the secondary distribution, in order to take no risk, it was clearly indicated that the water was unfit for consumption as all the other festivals do.
On-site medical teams confirm that of the 772 people treated in their services during these two days, none were for intoxication Due to the water
Contrary to rumor, there has never been a break in the distribution of bottled water in our bars.
We are sincerely sorry for the inconvenience encountered by some festival-goers.
After a survey of all providers and stakeholders, the track of water intoxication on our areas is definitely ruled out. "
