The Tanzanian President has shown no mercy to the detainees. At the inauguration of a prison, President John Magufuli did not miss the "lazy prisoners", believing that they must work to feed themselves.

However, President Magufuli's statement provoked a lot of reactions from Human rights organization, which considers it more and more authoritarian.
Thus, these rights organizations have accused it of intolerance, considering that its remarks were aimed indirectly at opposition activists and homobaduals.
