Throughout the day, we came across all kinds of T-shirts proudly wearing the name of Depeche Mode : no doubt, a majority of festival-goers waited for this concert with impatience – and us with . It must be said that after almost forty years of career, the formation had all the time to impose itself among the legends . So obviously, their live was unmissable. We will not lie, when we know that a group like this is going to happen, we tend to have expectations and "expectations" as our American neighbors would say. And from there, the disappointment comes quickly. But clearly, it is not so. Depeche Mode arrives on stage at 9:30 pm, in front of a heated audience.
Because the programming of a festival never allows to play a real concert, the group played only one hour and forty minutes but, it is already enough. The good news for the fans of the first hour, is that the festival obliges, the hits and the cult pieces were privileged at the last album.
Before they arrive on stage, Revolution (Beatles) resonates in the Citadel, so obviously, all festival-goers present themselves around the stage. Depeche Mode takes place, with the charisma and elegance of the formation . Titles, they start with Going Backwards and from there, it is an avalanche of pieces that falls on the Main Square: Cover Me, Somebody, Precious, In Your Room or Still Never Let Me Down Again nothing is forgotten. In the public, we are unleashed as ever, enjoying every minute. Dave Gahan is the king of the stage, spinning (sometimes) open arms.
No concert worthy of the name for Depeche Mode sans Enjoy The Silence and the mythical Just Can not Get Enough . When they leave the scene, the British leave festival-goers happy and satisfied.
