After spending two weeks in prison, the Pussy Riot were released in Moscow, but the authorities again arrested them without a reason being made public.

They had spent two weeks in jail after bursting on the lawn of the Luzhniki stadium in Moscow during the World Cup final between France and Croatia. Released on Monday, members of the Russian protest group Pussy Riot were again arrested by the authorities on their release from prison.

No explanation from the authorities to the press. According to witnesses, Veronika Nikulchina, Olga Kouratcheva and Olga Pakhtoussova celebrated their release before being forced into a police van a few seconds later. No explanation has been provided to the press by the authorities. A fourth activist, Piotr Versilov, who was leaving another Moscow detention center, tweeted that he was being held by the riot police and was driving near the Luzhniki stadium, where the group had been taken after the incident during the final France-Croatia. "They (the police) say they are going to arrest us for the night," he said in a tweet.

A violation of the law? Olga Pakhtoussova on his side tweeted a video taken inside the van, where she says the police accused them of violating the law on public gatherings, without further details. On July 23, a court dismissed appeals by the four activists, detained for bursting into uniform on the stadium lawn during the World Cup final on July 15 in the Russian capital.
