Record contract of 55 helicopters for Airbus with Ukraine

This is the most important agreement ever concluded between the two countries. Ukraine announced Saturday that it has signed a contract for the purchase of 55 civil helicopters for the French group Airbus for 555 million euros.

Signed in Kiev in the presence of Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groïssman and Ambbadador Isabelle Dumont of France, the contract provides for the purchase of 24 H125 helicopters, ten H145 and twenty-one helicopters H225 helicopters.

The amount of the contract will be financed 85% by a loan

"This contract will allow us to use 55 helicopters to ensure the safety of our citizens," welcomed Volodymyr Groisman, at the ceremony of the signature. Before adding: "This is an unprecedented volume that opens the door to new possibilities for cooperation".

Helicopters are supposed to be used especially for border surveillance and emergency situations. The amount of the contract will be 85% financed by a loan granted by the French Treasury and French banks. The delivery of the first four H225 Super Puma helicopters is expected this year.
