For 2018, the amount of the back to school allowance has been set between € 367.73 and € 401.46 depending on the age of the child. This 2018 school year bonus is reserved for parents of children born between September 16, 2000 and December 31, 2012 inclusive. If your child is born after December 31, 2012, but is already in the Preparatory Course (CP), you must send a certificate of schooling to the CAF or the MSA.

It will be paid from August 20

The ARS is allocated to families for any child between the ages of 6 and 18 who are enrolled in a public or private school recognized by the French state. It is subject to certain conditions of resources for its attribution. For 2018, you must take into account your 2016 income. And the ceiling of resources is identical to that of 2017:

  • 24 453 euros for a single dependent child;
  • 30 096 euros for a single child to charge
  • 35 739 euros for three dependent children

For each additional child, a further ceiling of 5 643 euros has to be added.

The amount of the ARS varies according to the age of the children:

  • 367.73 euros for a child between 6 and 10 years old
  • 388.02 euros for a child between 11 and 14 years old
  • 401.77 euros for a child between the ages of 15 and 18.

If you have already been a beneficiary of the ARS, you do not have to do anything to get it back to you. If, on the other hand, you have never touched it, fill out an online form available on the website of the Family Allowance Fund (CAF). The CAF, for its part, recovers the declaration of household income directly from taxes.

For a child aged 16 to 18, families must confirm on the website of the CAF or the MSA (Mutualité sociale agricole ) that he is still in school.

No control is carried out on the expenditures made with this allowance.
