This is the "best place in the UK to reach satellite orbits" sent into space via a vertical launch site. The British Space Agency announced Sunday, July 15 to have retained the Sutherland area in the north of
Scotland, to host the UK's first spaceport.

According to the agency's boss, Graham Turnock, the place will "kick off an exciting new era for British space industry ". This choice also confirms Scotland's ambitions in this sector.

The city of Glasgow specializing in satellites

According to space industry experts, Glasgow is the city outside the United States that produces the most satellites. It specializes in small devices that can be used for weather forecasts such as GPS systems.
