The Mellow Yellow brand is justified after being accused of throwing shoes still usable but …

CONSUMPTION – The practices of certain brands on their unsold products no longer pbad by consumers. And after Celio, it is the turn of Mellow Yellow, a brand of shoes, to experience it.

Friday, July 5, a user identified by the pseudonym "Jursticdotfr" published on Twitter two photos, showing several Mellow Yellow brand bags abandoned on a sidewalk. Inside, shoes "new" but with flanges cut and therefore unusable. Damage that would have been done voluntarily by the store, "not that beggar deign to enjoy without paying," pins the surfer.

Allegory of capitalism: new shoes, thrown, but taking care before doing so to rush them to the cutter, so that beggars deign to enjoy without paying. pic.twitter.com/uDRAMFBKp9

Photos are retweeted more than 7000 times, many Internet users demanding an official response from the brand. On July 6, Mellow Yellow responds to the accusations and justifies the deterioration of the shoes by explaining that they were "importable pair" because having "major flaws."

This gesture that seems incomprehensible concerned importable pairs : isolated feet, tears, major defect. We are currently studying recycling solutions for these products that can not be used by anyone. We remain very attentive to these questions.

But the explanation did not really convince. The shoes "were perhaps unsightly, but not importable. They are since the cuts of cutter, well targeted to make them just importables", replica Jursticdotfr. Several Internet users have also proposed several solutions to the brand to avoid such practices, others preferring to simply boycott

but then why have they lacerated? If the shoes were already unusable it had no interest. At least have the decency to be honest, and recognize that you do not want your unsold ones to be at the feet of people who will not serve your image.

At the last winter sales in the nafnaf store I could see a price tag broken precisely for small defects. I ended up with a sweater for not even 10 € it was enough to take the mesh ..

My feet inform me, just now, that they now refuse any collaboration. Farewell Mellow Yellow!

You have lost my clientele at the moment! No ecological and humanitarian thinking, just the application of instructions related to profit and image! Donation and recycling are not so complicated to implement!
