Baton Rouge Area SCORE will be hosting a free online seminar on how to start a business from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
The event covers topics such as the myths and realities of entrepreneurship, the components of business ownership, critical success factors, legal issues and financing.

An Acadian receives awards from the American Heart Association
Seven of the Acadian Ambulance service areas received the American Heart Association’s Mission: Lifeline EMS award for implementing quality improvement measures for the treatment of patients who have suffered severe heart attacks in 2020.
Acadian’s Houston service area received Silver Plus recognition.
Acadian capital (covering the parishes of East Baton Rouge, West Baton Rouge, Pointe Coupée, Iberville, East Feliciana, Livingston and Ascension); Northeastern Louisiana (covering the parish of Ouachita); Southwest Louisiana (covering the parishes of Calcasieu, Jeff Davis and Acadia); Jackson County, Mississippi; The Southeast Texas and Central Texas service areas have each achieved Bronze Plus recognition.

Baton Rouge General Expands Urology Services with New Satellite Clinics
Baton Rouge General has added two satellite urology clinics, headed by Dr William “Trey” Kubricht and Dr Andrew McCall, which will provide inpatient and outpatient services.

Researcher works to improve climate change predictions
LSU scientist Cheryl Harrison coordinated a team of 23 international researchers from the United States, Australia, Europe and Canada who produced a landmark paper on marine climate change impact projections.
Harrison is Assistant Professor in the Department of Oceanography and Coastal Sciences at LSU.
The study suggests that while models of marine ecosystems are the key tools used to understand how climate change might impact food webs and fisheries in the future, how these models represent the key processes that determine the response. from ecosystem to climate change differ considerably. These researchers believe that this uncertainty could cause models to underestimate the future impacts of climate change on marine ecosystems.
